Texas High-Speed Crash

Deadly Collision in Bexar County

A 20-year-old San Antonio man, Richard Aron Gonzales, has been charged with manslaughter following a high-speed crash that killed 71-year-old Patricia Browning. The incident occurred around 12:23 p.m. on Wednesday in the 11000 block of Alamo Ranch Parkway, Bexar County, Texas, when Gonzales, driving a white Ford Mustang, collided with Browning’s SUV.

Reckless Speeding Confirmed

According to an arrest warrant, Gonzales was driving recklessly at speeds exceeding 100 mph in a 45 mph zone. Data retrieved from the Mustang’s airbag control module and Berla onboard system confirmed he was traveling at 108 mph at the time of impact. Witnesses, surveillance video from nearby businesses, and evidence at the scene, including a speedometer needle locked at 100 mph, corroborated that Gonzales was speeding westbound on Alamo Ranch Parkway after racing down Highway 151.

Tragic Outcome

The violent collision caused Browning’s SUV to roll and spin, resulting in catastrophic injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Browning succumbed to her injuries less than an hour later. Gonzales, who sustained serious injuries, remains hospitalized but will face booking on a manslaughter charge upon release, according to Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) officials.

Investigation and Charges

Bexar County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the two-vehicle collision, and the investigation revealed the extent of Gonzales’ reckless driving. The combination of witness statements, physical evidence, and vehicle data underscored the severity of the incident, leading to the manslaughter charge against Gonzales.
